The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector is not only a source of carbon emissions, but also connected to human rights abuses and environmental pollution. While sustainable products do exist, they have not become a game changer in the sector.
This month's blogpost focuses on the Belgian initiative to increase the market share for sustainable ICT products through public procurement. Human rights, labour rights and ethics in the production of ICT products are a particular focus of the initiative.
