Workshop "Sustainbility in action"

The “Sustainability in Action” workshop is designed for high school students and aims to introduce the concept of sustainable development in an engaging, interactive, and relatable way. Instead of a traditional lecture, students explore how their everyday choices affect the environment, society, and the future of their communities through a variety of activities, discussions, teamwork, and problem-solving scenarios. During the workshop, students will reflect on topics such as consumption, waste, food, energy, transportation, and the responsible use of resources. Through activities such as “Take a Side,” “Sustainability Detectives,” and “Sustainable Shark Tank,” students will develop critical thinking, communication, and argumentation skills while learning to view sustainability challenges from different perspectives. A special emphasis is placed on active participation and finding practical solutions. Working in groups, students will identify sustainability-related challenges in their school or local community and develop their own ideas for addressing them. They will present their solutions to the other participants and collectively assess their feasibility and potential impact. The workshop concludes with an individual reflection in which each student identifies one small but concrete action they can take in their everyday life. In this way, sustainable development becomes more than just a theoretical concept—it becomes a topic connected to personal choices, responsibility, and the opportunity to actively contribute to creating a more sustainable future.
