Student innovation for circular economy
Students recycle PET bottles into 3D-printing filament and use it to create plant pots, promoting sustainability, circular economy, and STEM learning.
Our school is running a sustainability project in which students transform used PET plastic bottles into filament for 3D printing.
Students designed and built their own filament-making machine and a device for collecting and counting plastic bottles using recycled and waste materials. They collect plastic waste, prepare the material, and produce filament that is later used for creating useful 3D-printed products.
During the workshop, participants will use the recycled filament to design and 3D print plant pots. The project promotes circular economy principles, waste reduction, innovation, and STEM education while demonstrating how waste materials can be transformed into valuable resources.
The results of the project, including the production process, student work, and finished products, will be shared through the school's website and social media channels to raise awareness about sustainable practices and recycling.
Naša škola provodi projekt održivog razvoja u kojem učenici od iskorištenih PET boca izrađuju filament za 3D printer.
Učenici su sami osmislili i izradili uređaj za proizvodnju filamenta te uređaj za prikupljanje i brojanje plastičnih boca, koristeći pritom otpadne i reciklirane materijale. Prikupljaju plastični otpad, pripremaju materijal i proizvode filament koji koriste za izradu novih proizvoda.
U sklopu aktivnosti održat će se radionica na kojoj će sudionici od recikliranog filamenta izrađivati posude za biljke pomoću 3D printera. Projekt promiče načela kružnog gospodarstva, smanjenje otpada, inovativnost i STEM obrazovanje te pokazuje kako otpad može postati vrijedan resurs.
Rezultati projekta, proces izrade, učenički radovi i gotovi proizvodi bit će predstavljeni na mrežnoj stranici škole i društvenim mrežama kako bi se potaknula svijest o održivom razvoju, recikliranju i kružnom gospodarstvu.
