SDG Flag Day 2026
We are delighted to invite you to take part in SDG Flag Day. On 25 September 2026, we will be flying the SDG flags all over the world to show our support for the SDGs.
On September 25, 2026, it will be eleven years since the SDGs were adopted by 193 UN member states. The SDGs call for global collaboration between governments, businesses and civil society to deliver a powerful vision for improving our world by 2030. More than halfway to 2030, we need significant change if we are to achieve this agenda.
The SDG Flag Day campaign started in the Netherlands in 2020 and has grown to include hundreds of businesses, government departments, civil society organizations, and schools raising an SDG Flag every September to mark the adoption of the SDGs and show their support for them. Ever since an increased number of UNGC Country Networks joined the initiative. Many participating organizations leveraged this opportunity to convey their sustainability goals, coordinate staff engagement activities, or host community events aimed at raising awareness about the SDGs and the Agenda 2030. We hope that by raising an SDG Flag, businesses, civil society organizations, educational institutions and government organizations will show their commitment to the Global Goals and the actions they're already taking to tackle major global challenges.
Am 25. September 2026 sind es elf Jahre seit der Verabschiedung der SDGs durch 193 UN Mitgliedstaaten. Sie rufen zur globalen Zusammenarbeit zwischen Regierungen, Unternehmen und der Zivilgesellschaft auf, um eine starke Vision für die Verbesserung unserer Welt bis 2030 zu schaffen. Für die Erreichung der Agenda 2030 braucht es drastische Veränderungen.
Die SDG-Flag-Kampagne wurde 2020 in den Niederlanden ins Leben gerufen und wird inzwischen von Teilnehmenden aus Privatwirtschaft, Politik, Wissenschaft, Medien, Kultur, internationalen Organisationen und der Zivilgesellschaft weltweit unterstützt, die am 25. September eine SDG-Flagge hissen, um die Verabschiedung der Ziele zu markieren und ihre Unterstützung für diese zu zeigen. Seitdem hat sich eine wachsende Zahl von nationalen Netzwerken des UN Global Compact angeschlossen. Viele teilnehmende Organisationen nutzen diese Gelegenheit, um ihre Nachhaltigkeitsziele zu vermitteln, Aktivitäten zum Mitarbeiter:innenengagement zu koordinieren oder Events zu veranstalten, um das Bewusstsein für die SDGs und die Agenda 2030 zu schärfen.
