The initiative is an inclusive roller derby open day designed to introduce the public to the sport while promoting active lifestyles, community engagement, equality and well‑being. Participants will have the opportunity to watch a roller derby bout, learn more about the sport, and meet members of the local roller derby community in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The event uses sport as a vehicle for positive social impact by encouraging physical activity, participation and social interaction among people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities. It promotes values such as teamwork, respect, inclusion, empowerment and fair play. By making roller derby more accessible to the wider community, the initiative contributes to healthier, more active and connected communities, while demonstrating how grassroots sport can support Malta’s Sustainable Development Goals.
