Life Below Water, An Illustrated Talk with Marine Photographer Ivan Donoghue

To celebrate SDG Week, Wexford Library is delighted to welcome Marine Photographer Ivan Donoghue for an illustrated talk on his underwater photography. 

As an active member of Wexford Sub Aqua Club, Ivan balances his time taking photographs as well as his role as a club Instructor.  Ivan has spoken at many online and in person events showing the underwater beauty and environmental issues to be found around the Irish coast.

Ivan's proudest achievement was winning the 2020 “Love your Coast” competition with his image of a diver and jellyfish.

Ivan has been published with several cover shots and articles in the Irish dive magazine “Subsea”.  He has also had prize winning photographs published on the cover of two Irish national newspapers.  In 2026 Ivan won the Irish Biodiversity photographer of the Year - Ocean Category.  He also came third in the 2026 Irish Love your Coast Underwater photo competition.
