Let the River Breathe

4th-grade students from OŠ Bol will clean the Žrnovnica Riverbank and create seed-ball bird feeders, learning how small actions can make a difference for nature and biodiversity.

The 4th-grade students of OŠ Bol in Split will celebrate European Sustainable Development Week, which takes place from September 18 to October 8, under the motto “Small choices for a greener future. Choose sustainability every day.”

As part of an outdoor learning activity, the students will visit the Žrnovnica River, take part in a riverbank clean-up, and contribute to protecting nature and creating a cleaner and healthier environment.

The activity will also include placing bird feeders in the form of seed balls, which the students will make themselves beforehand during a workshop at school. In this way, students will learn through hands-on activities about the importance of caring for the environment, biodiversity, and a responsible relationship with nature.

U sklopu izvanučioničke nastave učenici će posjetiti rijeku Žrnovnicu, sudjelovati u čišćenju njezine obale te svojim djelovanjem pridonijeti očuvanju prirode i stvaranju čišćeg i zdravijeg okoliša.

The 4th-grade students of OŠ Bol in Split will celebrate European Sustainable Development Week, which takes place from September 18 to October 8, under the motto “Small choices for a greener future.
