Irish Network for Education Worldwide & UNESCO GEM Report: Irish Launch of the 2026 Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report on 21 September in Dublin
The Irish Network for Education Worldwide (INEW) and the UNESCO Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report are pleased to invite to the Irish Launch of the 2026 GEM Report on Access and Equity. The in-person event will take place on 21 September 2026, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Refreshments and lunch will be served.
The event will feature a presentation of the report’s key findings by the GEM Report’s Director, Manos Antoninis, an interactive panel discussion led by IDEA's CEO Ruairí McKiernan with national and international experts sharing insights and lessons from the report, and more.
Five years from the deadline of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it is a critical moment to take stock of the achievements and the constraints for SDG 4. The GEM Report, hosted and published by UNESCO, is centrally placed to help frame a global conversation to explain which countries have managed to find ways forward, how that was possible, and what that means for designing an education agenda beyond SDG 4. The launch brings together education experts from across Ireland and beyond to engage in discussions on the report’s findings and Ireland’s commitment to achieving SDG 4.
