I, as a Guardian of Vrbanić Park
Inspired by the historic Guardian of Vrbanić Park, fifth- and sixth-grade students will explore and photograph the natural and cultural features they believe should be protected for future generations
Working in small groups, fifth- and sixth-grade students will photograph three features they believe a modern guardian should protect: one valuable tree, one place important for animals, such as a birdhouse, insect hotel or tree hollow, and one cultural or spatial feature, such as a sculpture, path, entrance or historic detail. For each photograph, students will record what they observed, why it is valuable and one simple action visitors can take to protect it. Each group will choose one photograph and complete the sentence: “As a guardian of Vrbanić Park, I will…” The photographs and messages will form a small school exhibition or digital collage entitled “Guardians for the Future”.
Učenici će u skupinama fotografirati tri motiva koja bi, prema njihovu mišljenju, današnji Čuvar perivoja trebao posebno štititi: jedno vrijedno ili zanimljivo stablo, jedno mjesto važno za životinje, primjerice kućicu za ptice, hotel za kukce ili otvor u stablu jedan kulturni ili prostorni element, primjerice skulpturu, stazu, ulaz ili stari detalj perivoja. Uz svaku fotografiju učenici će zapisati što su uočili, zašto je taj motiv vrijedan i kako ga posjetitelji mogu čuvati. Svaka će skupina odabrati jednu fotografiju i oblikovati kratku poruku koja počinje riječima: „Kao čuvar Vrbanićevog perivoja, ja ću…“ Od učeničkih fotografija i poruka izradit će se mali izložbeni pano ili digitalni kolaž „Čuvari za budućnost“.
