Eco-Friendly Autumn Wreaths from Recycled Books
Students took part in creative workshops, transforming pages from old, discarded books into beautiful autumn wreaths
Creative workshops were held at Prelog Secondary School, where students created decorative autumn wreaths using pages from old, discarded books.
The workshops took place from 15 to 25 September 2026, with the aim of introducing students to the concept of sustainability through creative activities and demonstrating how materials that have reached the end of their original life cycle can be given a new purpose. The wreaths were exhibited at the National Exhibition of Student Cooperatives in Poreč, held from 30 September to 1 October 2026.
Instead of being discarded as waste, pages from old books were reused to create decorative wreaths featuring autumn-inspired motifs. The finished wreaths can be used as beautiful and original decorations for classrooms and other interior spaces.
The activity combined environmental awareness, creativity, and hands-on work, allowing students to experience firsthand the value of reuse and creative recycling.
The workshops were led by teachers Tanja Gregur and Mirela Petković.
U Srednjoj školi Prelog održane su kreativne radionice na kojima su učenici izrađivali ukrasne jesenske vjenčiće od listova starih, otpisanih knjiga.
Radionice su se održavale od 15. do 25. rujna 2026. godine, a cilj aktivnosti bio je učenicama približiti ideju održivosti kroz kreativno stvaralaštvo i pokazati kako materijali kojima je istekao prvotni životni vijek mogu dobiti novu namjenu. Vjenčići su bili izloženi na Državnoj smotri učeničkih zadruga koja se održala od 30. rujna do 1. listopada 2026. u Poreču.
Umjesto da otpisane knjige završe kao otpad, njihovi su listovi ponovno iskorišteni za izradu dekorativnih vjenčića s jesenskim motivima. Izrađeni vjenčići mogu se koristiti kao lijep i originalan ukras učionica i drugih interijera.
Aktivnost je povezala ekološku osviještenost, kreativnost i praktičan rad, a učenicama je omogućila da kroz vlastiti primjer spoznaju vrijednost ponovne uporabe i kreativnog recikliranja.
Voditeljice radionice bile su profesorice Tanja Gregur i Mirela Petković.
