The Youth initiative centre of Jūrmala invites young people to take part in a Clothing swap party as part of the European Sustainable Development Week 2026.
This event encourages responsible consumption by giving clothes a second life instead of buying new items. Participants are invited to bring clean and reusable clothing, shoes, and accessories and exchange them with others in a fun and welcoming environment.
The activity aims to raise awareness about the environmental impact of fast fashion, promote sustainable lifestyle choices, and inspire young people to make conscious consumer decisions. Besides the clothing exchange, participants will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable fashion, share styling ideas, and connect with peers who are interested in creating a more sustainable future.
Jaunatnes iniciatīvu centrs aicina jauniešus piedalīties "Clothing swap party" pasākumā, kas notiek Eiropas Ilgtspējīgas attīstības nedēļas ietvaros.
Pasākuma mērķis ir veicināt atbildīgu patēriņu un parādīt, ka pārmaiņas garderobē iespējamas arī bez jaunu apģērbu iegādes. Dalībnieki aicināti atnest tīrus un labā stāvoklī esošus apģērbus, apavus vai aksesuārus un apmainīties ar citiem jauniešiem draudzīgā un neformālā gaisotnē.
Pasākuma laikā jaunieši uzzinās vairāk par ilgtspējīgu modi, ātrās modes ietekmi uz vidi un iespējām ikdienā pieņemt videi draudzīgākus lēmumus. Tā būs arī iespēja dalīties idejās, atrast jaunus apģērbu komplektus un satikt domubiedrus.
