This online workshop introduces the Austrian “Culture Carbon Calculator”, a practical tool for calculating the greenhouse gas emissions of Austrian museums. The Excel tool, developed by BOKU University on behalf of and with funding from the Austrian Ministry for Arts and Culture, helps museums and cultural institutions systematically track their greenhouse gas emissions, have them calculated automatically, and analyze the results clearly. They provide a solid basis for identifying emission drivers, devising climate protection measures, and developing climate action roadmaps.
In this workshop, the participants will receive guidance on how to use the tool, how to collect data, and how to proceed with the results of the assessment. In addition, there will be time for questions and discussion.
The event will take place online via Zoom, in German language. Participation is free of charge; registration by e-mail to klimaprojekte@boku.ac.at is necessary.
Der Online-Workshop stellt den Klimarechner für Museen als praxisnahes Werkzeug zur Treibhausgasbilanzierung österreichischer Museen vor. Das von der Universität für Bodenkultur Wien im Auftrag und mit Finanzierung des Bundesministeriums für Wohnen, Kunst, Kultur, Medien und Sport entwickelte Excel-Tool unterstützt Museen dabei, ihre Treibhausgasemissionen strukturiert zu erfassen, automatisch berechnen zu lassen und übersichtlich auszuwerten. Die Ergebnisse bilden eine fundierte Grundlage, um Emissionstreiber zu identifizieren, Klimaschutzmaßnahmen abzuleiten und Klimaschutz-Roadmaps zu entwickeln.
Im Workshop erhalten die Teilnehmer:innen Inputs zur Nutzung des Tools, zur Datenerhebung und zur weiteren Arbeit mit den Bilanzierungsergebnissen. Darüber hinaus gibt es Raum für Fragen und Austausch.
Die Veranstaltung findet online via Zoom und in deutscher Sprache statt. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos; eine Anmeldung per E-Mail an klimaprojekte@boku.ac.at ist erforderlich.
