Buvljak

Buvljak is a youth-focused community event that combines second-hand culture, sustainability, circular economy, and social impact.

Buvljak is an event aimed at young people that brings together second-hand culture, sustainability, and social impact. Through the concepts of reuse, exchange, and conscious consumption, the event also provides a space for local creatives, handmade producers, and brands to showcase their work to a new audience.

It is part of a larger initiative by AIESEC in Zagreb, part of AIESEC in Croatia, called “Jel’ te košta”, a series of smaller events with the following goals:

* Engage young people in activities that contribute to the community

* Encourage socially responsible action

* Promote the values of solidarity, empathy, and sustainability

* Create a positive impact in the local community

The “Jel’ te košta” project is designed as a recurring initiative of AIESEC in Zagreb, carried out in collaboration with local partners.

Through this event, we aim to encourage young people to:

* Think about more sustainable patterns of consumption

* Learn something new through the educational content provided by exhibitors and partners

* Purchase second-hand, vintage, and upcycled products

* Support local creatives, producers, and brands whose work contributes to a more sustainable and creative community

The project is envisioned as a space that brings together young people, local creatives, organizations, and partners through the concept of circular economy, the reuse of clothing and other items, and support for the local creative scene.

Visitors will have the opportunity to buy, exchange, or donate clothing, as well as discover various local brands and purchase jewelry, decorations, artwork, and other products from independent creators.

The project is not intended to be solely a sales event, but rather a community experience that includes socializing, education, sustainable lifestyle practices, and connecting people and organizations that share similar values.

The event is also connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities

The project includes:

* An accessible event format

* The possibility of donating clothing

* The involvement of social impact organizations

SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities

The project contributes to creating:

* Accessible community events for young people

* A local sustainable scene

* A space for connecting the community and young people

SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production

The project directly promotes:

* The reuse of clothing and other items

* The reduction of textile waste

* A circular economy mindset

* More sustainable consumption habits among young people
