The Bioeconomy Austria Summit 2026 brings together decision-makers from business, politics, public administration and research to discuss Austria’s bio-based economy.
The Bioeconomy Austria Summit is the annual event for Bioeconomy Austria’s partners. In 2026, it will once again bring together the key stakeholders shaping Austria’s bio-based economy: decision-makers from business, politics, public administration and research. The event explores how domestic renewable resources are already being transformed into tangible economic value, and what potential bio-based innovations offer for Austria as a business location.
The program covers a broad range of topics. Where does Austria’s bioeconomy stand today? The first Bioeconomy Yearbook will present current facts and figures from Austria. Bio-based ideas developed by students and start-ups will be given a platform, as will Austrian timber construction research. In industry talks, innovative domestic companies from the forestry, agriculture, and aquaculture sectors will discuss their business models and future prospects. Renowned representatives of national and international investment and funding organizations will explore the pathway from national funding to European growth capital. Finally, particular focus will be placed on structured networking and targeted matchmaking to initiate new partnerships and joint projects.
The Bioeconomy Austria Summit 2026 is organized in cooperation with Tour Forest Bioeconomy. Over the course of two days, established companies, start-ups, scale-ups, investors and other decision-makers will come together to exchange views on current developments and explore new perspectives for a competitive, bio-based economy.
Der Bioeconomy Austria Summit ist die jährlich stattfindende Netzwerkveranstaltung von Bioeconomy Austria. Auch 2026 bringt er wieder zusammen, was Österreichs biobasierte Wirtschaft prägt: Entscheidungsträger:innen aus Wirtschaft, Politik, Verwaltung und Forschung. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie heimische, nachwachsende Rohstoffe bereits heute in konkrete Wertschöpfung überführt werden und welche Potenziale biobasierte Innovationen für den Wirtschaftsstandort Österreich bieten.
Das Programm ist vielfältig: Wo steht Österreichs Bioökonomie heute? Mit dem ersten Jahrbuch der Bioökonomie werden aktuelle Zahlen und Fakten aus Österreich vorgestellt. Biobasierten Ideen von Studierenden und Start-ups erhalten ebenso eine Bühne wie die österreichische Holzbauforschung. In Branchentalks sprechen innovative heimische Unternehmen aus den Bereichen Forst, Agrar und Aqua über ihre Geschäftsmodelle und Zukunftsaussichten. Renommierte Vertreter:innen nationaler und internationaler Investment- und Förderstellen diskutieren den Weg von nationalen Förderungen zu europäischem Wachstumskapital. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt schlussendlich auf strukturiertem Networking und gezieltem Matchmaking, um neue Kooperationen und gemeinsame Projekte anzustoßen.
Der Bioeconomy Austria Summit 2026 findet in Kooperation mit Tech Tour Forest Bioeconomy statt. An zwei Veranstaltungstagen treffen etablierte Unternehmen, Start-ups, Scale-ups, Investor:innen und weitere Entscheidungsträger:innen aufeinander, um sich über aktuelle Entwicklungen auszutauschen und neue Perspektiven für eine wettbewerbsfähige, biobasierte Wirtschaft zu entwickeln.
