Towards Circular by AlterContacts
We will release the articles on sustainable development written by the United Nations Volunteer-Researchers under guidance of Think Tank AlterContacts in Special Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC.
From December 2023, Think Tank AlterContacts has been conducting the fieldwork and academic research in the coastal areas of Greece, Italy and Spain on various aspects of the circular economy. As a result of this work, a report has been prepared under the title “Towards Circular: Analysis of the Coastal Areas of Greece, Italy and Spain.” It contains seventeen articles looking at the different aspects of sustainable development in coastal settlements through the lens of circular practices. The insights and findings on the state of communities, youth, tourism, fishing sector, and energy transition will aid policymaking at EU and global level and contribute to the academic body of research. During the European Sustainable Development Week 2024, the report will be officially released.
The goal of this digital event is to share and promote the report and individual articles to a wider audience of experts, students and public administrators. During the days of the event, AlterContacts team and the authors of the articles will be sharing them on social media, primarily LinkedIn in relevant groups and communities. This will raise awareness of the importance of sustainable development and its intersection with the Circular Economy.
Vanaf december 2023 heeft Think Tank AlterContacts veldwerk en academisch onderzoek uitgevoerd in de kustgebieden van Griekenland, Italië en Spanje naar verschillende aspecten van de circulaire economie. Als resultaat van dit werk is een rapport opgesteld met de titel "Towards Circular: Analysis of the Coastal Areas of Greece, Italy and Spain." Het bevat zeventien artikelen die de verschillende aspecten van duurzame ontwikkeling in kustnederzettingen bekijken door de lens van circulaire praktijken. De inzichten en bevindingen over de staat van gemeenschappen, jongeren, toerisme, visserijsector en energietransitie zullen de beleidsvorming op EU- en mondiaal niveau ondersteunen en bijdragen aan het academische corpus van onderzoek. Tijdens de European Sustainable Development Week 2024 zal het rapport officieel worden vrijgegeven.
Het doel van dit digitale evenement is om het rapport en de individuele artikelen te delen en te promoten bij een breder publiek van experts, studenten en overheidsbestuurders. Tijdens de dagen van het evenement zullen het AlterContacts-team en de auteurs van de artikelen deze delen op sociale media, voornamelijk LinkedIn in relevante groepen en gemeenschappen. Dit zal het bewustzijn vergroten van het belang van duurzame ontwikkeling en de kruising ervan met de circulaire economie.
