Seminar “Intertwined and inspired: localising Sustainable Development Goals together.”
The seminar is devoted to the benefits of cooperation among municipalities - twinning, - with particular emphasis put on the structured cooperation including the Sustainable Development Goals.
The world is changing, and how we are able to create sustainable solutions in our cities and regions is becoming increasingly important. The seminar will bring together representatives of local governments, practitioners and inspiring lecturers from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania to share their experiences and discover how to jointly promote the development of local governments, for example, by implementing investment projects, introducing energy efficiency measures and managing flood risks. In the second part of the seminar, participants are invited to participate in a study visit to Ādaži municipality, getting acquainted with examples of investment projects and sustainable development activities in reality, e.g., latest innovations and robots working in the manufacturing company “Hornbaek Baltic” and visiting Carnikava Local History Centre implementing climate change adaptation activities.
The seminar, which takes place within the framework of the European Union co-funded program “Enhancing Local Authorities’ Capabilities for Sustainable Policy Implementation and Civic Engagement in Europe” (SPICE), is organized by the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments in cooperation with the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and Adazi municipality.
Pasaule mainās, un arvien lielāka nozīme ir tam, kā mēs spējam radīt ilgtspējīgus risinājumus savās pilsētās un novados. Seminārā tiksies pašvaldību pārstāvji, praktiķi un iedvesmojoši lektori no Latvijas, Igaunijas un Lietuvas, lai dalītos pieredzē un atklātu, kā kopīgi veicināt pašvaldību attīstību, piemēram, īstenojot investīciju projektus, ieviešot energoefektivitātes pasākumus un pārvaldot plūdu riskus. Savukārt semināra otrajā daļā dalībnieki aicināti piedalīties izpētes vizītē Ādažu novadā, apskatot investīciju un ilgtspējīgas attīstības piemērus realitātē: iepazīstoties ar jaunākajām inovācijām un robotiem ražošanas uzņēmumā “Hornbaek Baltic” un Carnikavas Novadpētniecības centra īstenotajām pielāgošanās klimata pārmaiņām aktivitātēm.
Semināru, kas tiek organizēts Eiropas Savienības līdzfinansētās programmas “Vietējo pašvaldību iespēju veicināšana ilgtspējīgas politikas īstenošanai un pilsoniskajai iesaistei Eiropā” (SPICE) ietvaros, rīko Latvijas Pašvaldību savienība sadarbībā ar Eiropas Vietējo un reģionālo pašvaldību padomi (CEMR) un Ādažu novada pašvaldību.
