What is the European Sustainable Development Week?

The European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) was an initiative launched by Austria, France and Germany in 2015 and was supported by the European Sustainable Development Network (ESDN). The goal of the ESDW is to provide a platform and make exemplary commitment visible throughout all of Europe within a certain period of time (18 September - 08 October), to attract public attention to the topic of sustainable development, the UN 2030 Agenda, and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Everyone can change something for the better! The more people and organizations that participate, the stronger the signal we send out together!

Since 2015, more than 50.000 events have been registered through the ESDW with tens of millions of participants having attended events!

Since 2016, events registered through the ESDW have been explicitly linked to the SDGs. It is a wonderful way to showcase what individual countries and Europe are doing to reach the Goals.

Who can participate and register events?

Anyone who wants to take a concrete action to support the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Initiatives, foundations, schools, kindergartens, universities, churches, companies, social institutions, environmental and development associations, municipalities, public utilities, authorities, offices and ministries, but also private persons who would like to start an action in their personal environment.

Which types of events can be registered?

The point of reference for all events is the United Nations' Agenda 2030 with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each participant of the ESDW is therefore asked to assign his or her commitment to the SDGs.

It is important that your event takes place during the ESDW period from 18 September to 08 October 2026. In the case of events lasting several days, at least one day of the action must fall within the timeframe.

Events are those activities that make the diverse commitment to sustainable development in your country publicly visible. Whether it is a panel discussion, a sustainable cooking seminar or a clothing swap party, indoors or outdoors. Digital events, such as social media campaigns on sustainability are also possible.

Beth yw Wythnos Datblygu Cynaliadwy Ewropeaidd?

Dechreuodd Wythnos Datblygu Cynaliadwy Ewropeaidd (ESDW) un 2015 gan Awstria, Ffrainc a’r Almaen ac roedd yn cael ei gefnogi gan Rhwydwaith Datblygu Cynaliadwy Ewropeaidd (ESDN). Nod yr ESDW yw darparu llwyfan ac i wneud ymrwymiadau esiampl yn weladwy ledled Ewrop mewn cyfnod penodol (18 Medi - 08 Hydref), i ddenu sylw'r cyhoedd at bwnc datblygu cynaliadwy, Agenda’r UN 2030, a’r 17 Nod Datblygu Cynaliadwy (SDGau). Gall pawb newid rhywbeth er gwell! Po fwyaf o bobl a sefydliadau sy’n cymryd rhan, y cryfaf yw’r signal a anfonwn allan gyda’n gilydd!

Ers 2015, mae dros 50,000 o ddigwyddiadau wedi’u cofrestru trwy'r ESDW gyda degau o filiynau o gyfranogwyr wedi mynychu digwyddiadau!

Ers 2016, mae digwyddiadau a gofrestrir trwy’r ESDW wedi’u cysylltu’n benodol â’r SDGau. Mae'n ffordd wych o ddangos beth mae gwledydd unigol ac Ewrop yn ei wneud i gyrraedd y Nodau.

Pwy all gymryd rhan a chofrestru digwyddiadau?

Unrhyw un sydd eisiau cymryd cam pendant i gefnogi gweithredu'r 17 Nod Datblygu Cynaliadwy (SDGs) o'r UN. Mentrau, sefydliadau, ysgolion, meithrinfeydd, prifysgolion, eglwysi, cwmnïau, sefydliadau cymdeithasol, cymdeithasau amgylcheddol a datblygu, dinasoedd, gwasanaethau cyhoeddus, awdurdodau, swyddfeydd a gweinyddiaethau, ond hefyd unigolion preifat sydd am gychwyn camau yn eu hamgylchedd personol.

Pa fath o ddigwyddiadau gellir eu cofrestru?

Y pwynt cyfeirio i'r holl ddigwyddiadau yw Agenda 2030 y Cenhedloedd Unedig gyda'i 17 Nod Datblygu Cynaliadwy (SDGs). Felly, gofynnir i bob cyfranogwr o ESDW dynodi ei ymrwymiad at y SDGs.

Mae'n bwysig bod eich digwyddiad yn digwydd yn ystod cyfnod ESDW o 18 Medi i 08 Hydref 2026. Os yw digwyddiadau yn para sawl diwrnod, rhaid i o leiaf un diwrnod o'r cam gweithredu fod o fewn yr ystod amser.

Mae digwyddiadau yn y gweithgareddau hynny sy'n gwneud y ymrwymiad amrywiol i ddatblygu cynaliadwy yn eich gwlad yn weladwy'n gyhoeddus. Boed hi’n drafodaeth banel, neu seminar coginio Cynaliadwy, neu bartïon cyfnewid dillad, y tu mewn neu'r awyr agored. Mae digwyddiadau digidol, fel ymgyrchoedd cyfryngau cymdeithasol ar gynaliadwyedd, hefyd yn bosibl.
